liposuction

History

Which appeared to liposuction, excess fat was removed with the skin (tummy tuck), leaving, therefore, large scars. This technique was invented by Italian gynecologist, Giorgio Fischer, 1974.1 but it was the French surgeon Yves Gerard Illouz, in 1977, the first to use it for estéticos.2 Illouz cannula coupled to a vacuum and inserted under the skin, moving swinging, fat was detached and sucked.
Since its introduction there have been changes and developments in relation to cannulas, suction, anesthesia, and above all, more precise. In 1985, dermatologist Jeffrey Klein tumescent liposuction invents or method humedo.3
Ultrasonic Liposuction was introduced in 1982 when the U.S. surgeon WP Coleman describes the technique using vibrating cannulas with the advantage of protecting the tejidos.4 Clinical effects of ultrasound were known for some time in Physiotherapy, which used the effect of heat generated by ultrasonic waves in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries . Based on this principle are developed ultrasonic liposuctores perform a selective destruction of cells while preserving vessels and nerves. This specificity is due to the different ratio of absorption of ultrasonic energy present in the human body cells. In 1993 he developed the technique Zocchi internally. In 2000 a study (Lawrence and Cox)) did not indicate that the ultrasound technique is better than the conventional one or is essential to facilitate the extraction of grasa.5
At first this procedure is performed under general anesthesia. Liposuction was performed only in the deeper portions of fat and used large diameter cannulas. If the surgeon was coming over to the skin was due to the size of the cannulas, a high risk of irregularities. The intervention was very traumatic and the patient was admitted several days at the clinic and blood transfusions were almost the norm. Currently, most interventions are performed under local anesthesia or loco-regional. The small-diameter cannulas are allowing to perform liposuction of minor surface irregularities. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis in virtually all cases and blood loss is not significant.

Techniques
Under the same principle used various techniques of liposuction, syringe, ultrasonic with fibroliposucción and with the help of laser.
Can be done in the superficial fat and deep fat.
Ultrasonic Liposuction is applied in localized lipodystrophy body treatments, cellulite and postliposucción mainly to reduce irregularities.
During operation, the surgeon first with a cannula travels every sector of the area to be lipo (which has been previously marked) and inject a liquid solution. This solution consists of anesthesia, a drug that contracts blood vessels and a saline solution that will help loosen grease from the skin and muscle, dissolving it and converting it into a viscous liquid. Later, he shall withdraw the liquid through a suction procedure, through a cannula previously introduced and is connected to a suction machine.
A liposuction usually lasts 1 to 3 hours, although the final time depends on the type of liposuction and the technique used. As with any surgery, using local or general anesthesia.

Postoperative Care
After the liposuction, the patient may return to their normal duties in a time that depends on the operation to be performed and the patient (this period may vary from one to several days). During the following weeks, the patient must make efforts and should protect the area using a special strip lipo and compresses elastic recommend a surgeon.
During the first few days may alleviate pain or discomfort with massages. The results may begin to see from the two months, although the final appearance will not be before six.

End
Liposuction should not be considered a cure for obesity, but as a cosmetic surgery can remove fat that is accumulated in unwanted places. Usually liposuction is performed in the abdomen, hips and thighs but can also be done in other places such as arms, knees, ankles, chin or face.
Cosmetic surgery should be performed in people enjoying good health. The primary purpose is to eliminate body fat with lipodystrophy or eliminate cellulite, shape the patient's body and to a lesser extent as weight reduction is not strictly a control treatment of obesity and adipose tissue is not removed from around the body, but only in some areas, the most common being the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and cuello.6
Liposuction allows the possibility of relocating some of the fat graft removed as superfluous. This means that the fat extracted re-infiltrate other areas of the body to give better volume and shape for aesthetic purposes, thus speaks of liposculpture.
